How to Make Your Bedroom Better for Sleep

Here at Rocking Chicc, we cannot express to you enough how important our core values are to our business. We want to help all of our customers achieve a healthy body and mind through comfortable and modern furniture.

We think it is safe to say that your bedroom is one of the most important rooms in terms of comfort and taking care of your body. Sleep is what allows our body to rest and reset, something that someone needs to have a proper productive day. So let’s discuss the ways we can make your bedroom better for sleeping and better for you.

Cooler temperatures are actually one of the best ways for you to improve your sleep. Whether you keep your windows open for a cool breeze or turn on a fan, the coolness will relax your body better than a warmer temperature. And let’s be honest, no one likes a warm pillow. Other options include, if you have a smart thermostat, programming cooler temperatures at night and warmer ones during the day. This energy-efficient tip can help you save money and keep you more comfortable. Some suggest warm sheets in the winter and cooler ones during the summer. Remember being at a comfortable temperature is key.

Make your room as dark as possible. Removing sources of light such as electronics or night lights can decrease any brain interruptions and allow you to sleep soundly. You can even try blackout currents which can help block any light from outside no matter the time of day.

White noise is a very well-known sleeping habit. Try turning on a fan, or using a noise machine to ease your mind with calming sounds. Google and Alexa devices can even play sleep sounds for you. And if you don’t have any smart home devices, just search one up on your phone or download an app to help.

Another way to help keep your bedroom better for sleep is removing your TV. Watching TV before bed can negatively impact your sleep. Reading is a much more healthy habit to pick up before bed. Avoid looking at your phone and instead, read for 20-30 minutes to distract and de-stress.

Clutter can also have such a huge impact on your sleep and ultimate productivity throughout the day. It can create “visual stress'' and can actually affect the way we go about our days and nights. Disorganization can create anxiety and make it harder for your mind to calm down to sleep. Something as simple as putting away your clothes or organizing your desk can help you relax and become more healthy.
